Alternator output, belt condition, main fuse, charging cable and earth path should be measured. Replacing the battery without confirming charge voltage can lead to the same complaint soon after.

3. Connector moisture, rodent damage or harness wear

Sensor circuits depend on clean connectors and intact wiring. Moisture, engine-bay heat, vibration and rodent damage can create intermittent readings. A visual inspection plus continuity and reference-voltage checks is more useful than replacing parts solely because a scan has named a sensor circuit.

4. The reported sensor itself

Wheel-speed, temperature, pressure and position sensors can fail. But a code often says the module received an implausible signal; it does not automatically prove the sensor is the root cause. Compare live data, inspect wiring and confirm the mechanical condition around the sensor before changing it.

5. Module or communication issue

Less commonly, a module, network connection or software state can contribute. This should be considered only after supply voltage, grounds and circuit integrity are confirmed. A controlled scan and documented checks prevent expensive guesswork.

Record the warning and any drivability symptom. Test battery and charging voltage. Scan and save codes before clearing them. Inspect related connectors, fuses, grounds and harness sections. Compare live data where available. Only then decide whether a sensor, wiring repair or another component is needed. When to stop driving

Red brake, oil-pressure, overheating or charging warnings, severe misfire, smoke, burning smell or loss of steering/braking assistance deserve immediate attention.
